New Love Street blog

December 21, 2009

Patrick Waites has unveiled a new blog called Life on Love Street. It will take you behind the scenes of Love Street, exploring both what we are doing and why. And until the official launch of Come Together it will be your only source for information about the event!

Is your stuff the same thing as the shows with Dave Blasingame? That Abbey Road thing was really cool,

That was cool indeed, but I watched it from the audience. There is a lot of confusion about the relationship between Dave’s group and Love Street. The best way to put it is that they are separate groups with some occasional overlap of personnel. Dave’s group uses an established core of musicians, which is not really compatible with our mission of getting as many musicians as possible active in volunteering. However, we applaud the fact that they use their performances to benefit charity. Our organization, as you can see from the website, does things other than just public performances. But we do that as well. For Come Together we will unite Houston’s Beatles tribute bands and the Houston Civic Symphony for four hours of music spanning the Beatles’ entire career. As a Beatles fan, you won’t want to miss it.
