If you can occasionally be free during the day on Mondays and would like to give something back to the kids at Texas Children's and Shriners, please read on. We are seeking a few volunteers to serve in a NON-MUSICIAN capacity, accompanying musicians as they perform. We have room for 2 people to join us this Monday from 9:30 to 2:30 to see what it is all about. Please call Patrick at 713-256-9007 for more information.
We knew that Wayside Drive was committed to our cause. They have evidenced that by their repeat performances at Love Street events and at local children's hospitals. But we were extremely humbled when Jeremy Osborn informed us that the band had selected Love Street to benefit from its merchandise sales. See the official press release here. This announcement coincides with the release of Wayside Drive's new CD, "The Other Side." You can read a preview of the CD by the Houston Examiner here. Thank you again, Wayside Drive!
At its June 2 anniversary event, Love Street announced a major expansion of its TONIC hospital music program. Over past two years, TONIC performances have occurred monthly at Texas Children's Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children. At Texas Children's the performances have been set in renal care and cancer treatment areas. The major limitation of this setup is that it requires performances to occur on weekdays in the daytime. It also fails to provide any service to patients not in those areas. The expanded program will bring music to other areas of Texas Children's. It is also much more flexible in its scale and schedule, meaning that many more musicians can participate. At its rollout, ...
A short note to remind our friends that ticket sales for the September 17 event Come Together are now in the Early-Bird period. The individual "Ticket to Ride" is discounted 20%. Early-Bird sales will run through June 30. All you have to do to claim the discount is enter code BIRD during checkout. Come Together is a gala tribute to the Beatles. It will feature four hours of music by Abbey Rode, Beetle, The Fab 5, Tie-Dye Sky and Houston Civic Symphony. Proceeds benefit Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance.
After much work both on preparing details of the event and backroom work on our e-commerce site, we are very excited to announce that our ticket sale site for Come Together is now live. You can get ticket and much more at our online store.
A short note to let you know that the new Come Together website is now live. We will be adding some important aspects (like how to buy tickets!) in the days and weeks to come, so be sure to check back.

Love Street is announcing today the formation of its Advisory Board. We have long depended on the advice of community leaders in the areas of nonprofits, business, medicine and the arts. With the creation of the Advisory Board, we are merely institutionalizing this practice.
It is only proper that David Adickes be named to the position of Honorary Chair of the Advisory Board. David has been involved with the modern incarnation of Love Street Light Circus from its inception. He was also an honoree at the White Album for Purple Songs event in 2008. Congratulations and thanks (again) to David. The honor is ours.
Shriners Hospital for Children in Houston asked us to pass this along, which of course we are happy to do. The week of May 10-14 is Hospital Appreciation Week. Shriners will be having activities throughout the day, but with an emphasis on 11:30-1:30. They are seeking volunteer musicians to perform as part of these activities. If you are interested, or if you have any questions, please contact Vickie Cartee at vcartee(at)shrinenet.org or 713-793-3836.
