Because the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Why the Name?

Why do we call ourselves Love Street Light Circus? It’s both what we are about and a tie to Houston’s musical past. Patrick Waites explains it in this brief interview on Fox 26 news:

Our name is a connection to Houston’s musical past. Love Street Light Circus and Feelgood Machine was a focal point of the Houston music scene in the late 1960s. It featured the city’s top acts of the day, some of whom went on to national prominence. The club was founded by renowned Houston artist David Adickes, who graciously blessed our use of the name and served as Honorary Chair of our inaugural music event.

But Love Street Light Circus is more than just a cool old name to us. It perfectly describes what we are about. We are musicians who come together out of love for Houston’s children - to use the cliché, our future. But why “Light Circus”? In order to make what we do irresistable to Houston’s musicians and music fans, we aim to make each event unique and extraordinary. So we thought it the perfectly descriptive name.
